On March 19th, International Academy students were invited to sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” for the 103rd birthday of Mrs. Leola Brown Montgomery. Mrs. Montgomery was the lead plaintiff in the Brown Case in 1954.

Mrs. Lassiter, principal of International Academy, was a part of the closing of the Monroe School. She and her students were delighted to honor the legacy of Montgomery and her daughters this year!
